Andalucía – Covid pass required when visiting restaurants

Below, we summarise the new temporary regulations that came into force on December 20, 2021, in Andalucía. To limit the spread of Covid-19, the Junta de Andalucía has determined the following.

New directives and amendments are continuously being introduced. It is important to note that the following may be subject to change. This is regulated under BOJA (Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía) and applies only to entrepreneurs registered in Andalucía. It is important to check what applies in the different regions.

Requirement for Covid Pass or Negative Test

This applies between December 20, 2021, and January 15, 2022.

For Visitors

When visiting a restaurant, café, or discotheque, everyone over the age of 12 must present a Covid pass, a negative antigen test (no more than 48 hours old), a negative PCR test (no more than 72 hours old), or proof of recovery within the last 6 months.

If you have received a Covid vaccine in Spain, you can download the certificate on ClicSalud+ or Salud Andalucia. You can also visit your health center and request your Covid pass certificate.

For Entrepreneurs and Staff

Local police may conduct inspections and check customers’ documentation/certificates. In the event of a lack of valid documentation/certificate, the entrepreneur will be fined:

  • Minor deficiencies: 100 – 3,000 euros
  • Serious deficiencies: 3,001 – 60,000 euros
  • Very serious deficiencies: 60,001 – 600,000 euros

To verify that guests’ certificates are valid, a QR reader should be used on the app “Salud Andalucía”. This reads all EU Covid certificates. Below is a link to the “Salud Andalucía” app for easy downloading.
